We got company coming!

We have been "designated" as the tour guide for this falls arrival of Iowa friends to the beautiful part of northern Maine. They heard our stories of lobster and Acadia Park and the coastline, now they want to experience it too. I need your help to take them to the must-see places in northern Maine, from Bar Harbor area down to maybe Portland for about 7-10 days. If you know of recommended campgrounds, foods, etc. let us know. Tell us the must-not-miss lobster pounds and scenic stops and villages, etc. It is a wonderful place to see, but we are not from Maine either, so tell us where to go, and Thank You all for any help you can give us...the pressures on, as you can imagine!

Please post a list of the best places you find. We will be in eastern Maine for the summer as well. WE plan to see if we can put a dent in the lobster population.

Here is a wonderful CG that we stayed at in Searsport Me. I sent a link to the CG's website. It gets great reviews. I loved that place! We were on a premium site that gave us a beautiful vista of the Bay and the folks who run that place, especially the owner Astrig, are sincere, caring people.
Hopefully this link came through...

We stayed in the Bar Harbor KOA. It rained and the site flooded. The sites are small. We complained to KOA local and corporate - to no avail. I'm not ever going back to that KOA specifically and I'm not going to renew the KOA membership.
But, Maine, Bar Harbor, Acadia Park etc. all excellent!

Narrows II in Bar Harbor, right on the water and beautiful views. Shore Hill CG in Boothbay. I love Boothbay, maybe even more than Bar Harbor.
