Jim... I found your site but not you! It looks like we were there a little early for a lot of the seasonals. A large percentage of them looked like they hadn't been touched yet and I was surprised by how many empty sites there were.
Usually, Wawaloam is packed when we go there. This weekend, I would guess that 50% of the transient sites were vacant. Is this a trend or did we just hit on an 'off' weekend?

Hi Tps,
I haven't even been up there yet as I have been so busy at work. Had to pay a guy to ready the site for me and was hoping to get up there today to wash the trailer and get it ready for the season, but it's raining. So I'm just gonna putter in the motorhome today out in the driveway.
Memorial day weekend is my opening season at work and with the good weather we were jammed. Plus labor shortages in Fairfield County is killing me.
The family goes up usually on Thursday and stays until Monday or Tuesday....me i get out of work on Sunday night and run up for the night and back on Monday night. I don't have any down time until August.I can't explain why the campground was empty....maybe the gas rates are affecting a few? We had our daughters graduation this weekend as did many of the local highschools...maybe added a little also? I don't know I just want to get campin.....lol
Hope to see you up there some time and let me know when you go up next time maybe I can catch up with you some Sunday.
Thanks
Jim Hutch

We are getting excited about our first trip out. We are leaving June 30th for Vermont! We will be out for a week before returning to our seasonal site at Pleasant Acres.
We then go back out in October to the Shenandoah Valley for a week.
We only go out twice a year. The rest of the time we are at our seasonal site.

Hi Jaymz,
I see that you will be at Kampersville. We live about 5 miles from there. Let me know if you need anything or if we can be of any help. Welcome to Vermont. If you are interested, Brandon (my home town) has a big Independence Day Celebration on the 7th. Lots of activities for everyone. If you come, stop by and see me at the Rotary/Chamber Hot dog/hamburger booth. I'll be working there. Check out http://www.brandon.org/

Hi Lynn,
Our original plan was to stay at Lake Bomoseen but saw some negative reviews about it so we decided against it.
So we booked Kampersville at Lake Dunmore. We have a 2.5 year old. We are currently looking for things to see in the area. We are going to do like we did when we went to Saratoga Springs last year. No plans..when we wake up if we feel like doing something outside of the campground we then go do it, if not we just stay!

Hi Lenny,
We should be there that weekend! Our site is 513 right in the main circle of the campground. We have a 2.5 year old and also plenty of other kids. I think that weekend is the frog jumping contest..I think...we catch the frog at the lake! Always a fun time.

Here is a question, how far is Burlington from where we are going to be? My wife is wanting to do the boat ride thing and goto ECHO.

Burlington is about an hour north on Route 7 from Kampersville.

thanks Lynn!
That's not bad at all, looks like we will be going to ECHO and a lunch cruise one day!
We also thought about going up near Stowe for the balloon festival, not quite sure about that yet.

We will be taking a trip to Vermont in Aug. We start out with 2 nights in Watkins Glen NY. (Wed Aug.8-10 for 2 nights) Then up to the Rutland VT. area at Gifford Woods State Park For 4 nights ( Fri Aug. 10-14) then up to Lake Dunmore's Kampersville for 5 nights (Tue. Aug. 14-19) then a final stop at Lake St. Catherine State Park on the west side of Vermont for 5 more nights (Sun Aug. 19-24). Since were are going to be camping near the killington / Rutland area for 14 nights we were thinking about getting Killington Ski areas "Summer Season Family Pass". It covers Alpine slides, Water Slides, The bungee thing, Mountain Biking, Climbing walls, Gondola rides to the summit, Mini Golf. Last years brochures has the family pass listed for $154. Does anyone know of any cheaper rate for that package or coupons? Jim......
