Mansfield Campground Area

Looking for some campgrounds around the Mansfield area. We are gonna stop by and the old reformatory on one of the days other than that it will just be hanging around the campground swimming and doing whatever else they have to do.

I was looking at Dogwood valley and shelby koa and others in the area. Does anyone have any favorite ones in that area to stay at. Something with a swimming area and other thinks to keep me and my son occupied!

Thanks

It depends on whether you require FHU or not. Shelby KOA is quite a haul to the Reformatory. While it is pricy, IMO, it is very, very nice. Lots of activities.

If you can get by with just electric, I would recommend Charles Mill. It is close to the reformatory. The Eagle Point part of the campground, while housing mainly seasonals, usually has some open sites and it has a pool. It sits on a peninsula on the lake. The main side has a beach and disc golf, although the lake is primarily a fishing lake. The restrooms are generally clean and well-kept.

There is also the Butler KOA and River Trail Crossing campgrounds in Butler, both of which would be closer than Dogwood Valley.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. We dont need full hookups just electric would be fine. I agree the KOA is price and was leaning away from there. We stayed at Charles Mill lake a few years back at one of there cabins when the had the truck races down there. I couldnt remember how level the sites were. Thanks again for the info ill take a look at Charles Mill
