4th Of July Flamingle

Salmon Lake RV Park, Grapeland, Texas
July 1st - 5th

This will be the Texas Boomers first visit to this wonderful
and most unique park in deep East Texas.

We have virtually unlimited sites for this Flamingle
Please make your reservation by calling 936-687-2594.

After making your reservation, please reply to this post with
your 1st and last names, dates of arrival and departure

This is a Flamingle so we will have no meal sign ups, clean up crews, etc.

Planned Meals and Activities:

Please bring your own tableware and beverage of choice to all meals

Thursday Night 6 PM - Grilled Hamburgers provided
with all the fixin's followed by bean bag baseball in the rally hall.
Ice cream sundaes and shakes after baseball.

Friday Night 6 PM - Cold Snacks Night Potluck
(sandwiches, chips/dips, finger food, etc.)
Introduction of our 1st timers with us.
followed by the Geo Clooney movie Leatherheads on our big screen TV in the rally hall.
Bring your comfy lawn chair.
Popcorn machine will be spitting out the kernels for you.

Saturday Morning 9 AM - Plain Ole Potluck Breakfast
Bring a breakfast dish to share. Coffee and juice provided.

Saturday Night 6 PM - American Food Potluck
Bring your favorite American dish to share.
Followed by a Dice for Prizes Game

Sunday Early Evening -
5 PM - Smoked Pork Tenderloin provided.
Please bring side dishes (no desserts please) to share.
After dinner apple and cherry pie and ice cream provided.

9 PM - Our own fireworks display over Salmon Lake.

Flood Damage at Salmon Lake
Many of you may have seen the reports of the severe
flooding in Grapeland and the damage to Salmon Lake RV Park.
11 inches of rain in about 4 hours.

I talked to them today and the damage involved the
earthen dam breaking on the lake and washing a
couple of small buildings downstream into their outdoor stage.

This should not impact our flamingle at all
and they even hope to get everything
restored in the coming days.
