4th of July Flamingle Wrap UP

The Boomers gathered at Salmon Lake Campground for their
second 4th of July Flamingle at this jewel of a park in deep East Texas.

We introduced the Betts, Powell's, Kobe's, and Darrell Reaves as 1st time visitors to the club.

We held our annual Texas Holdem tournament with eleven entries.
Yours truly was the eventual winner.
Runner up was Scott Smith and making the podium in 3rd was Carolyn Bry.

We had some wonderful boomers meals as always to include a fish fry
and an outdoor gathering, with our other fireworks group,
at the park pavilion for hot dogs and watermelon.

We had our annual Dog Days of Summer pet food drive
and donated several hundred pounds of dog and cat food to
BARC animal shelter in Palestine.
They were extremely grateful for our donation.

And once again the club, along with the RV restoration group from Longview
set off another spectacular fireworks display from the dam of the lake.

The weather was really pleasant the whole week, at least for Texas in July.
Everyone enjoyed playing games in the hall and we capped it off
by showing the movie 1941 the last night which everyone really enjoyed

It was a great Flamingle and we are already making plans for next year.
