I know, I miss gift wrapping too, but they will have about 7-8 volunteers on hand to unload from our trucks and staged for the "photo op" and official presentation which the latest communication shows will be at the Kerrville Community Center.
Then the volunteers will separate the toys into the age appropriate groups and then re-load onto their vehicles to be taken to a couple of centers where they'll be stored until the appropriate day that Blue Santa hands out the gifts. That's my understanding at least.
All the food will be taken to the food bank center where it will be sorted and stored until it's given out to the community before Christmas.
In my communications with the administration, they told me they have never had an operation this detailed before. For the most part, they just put out boxes in front of local businesses where donations are dropped in from the local community. They weren't expecting an RV group to come rolling into town with 3-5 truck loads of toys and food!!! They are so excited and very appreciative!
We'll receive a wonderful blessing, but.....we'll miss the wrapping fun!!!
see you soon!
Sandy
