A nice way of saying that we have a short attention span, also known as attention deficit disorder (ADD). So, what was this thread about, again?

I'm trying to get an early jump on directions to Millers Creek in case I forget. I think I have more subtraction's than add's Rusty. But then I do stay confused most of the time.

We will be there as well, but my GPS remembers how to get there. But the first order of business is in January Jim. Take one step and then take two steps and then 3 steps..

Judy and I are really sorry that we're going to miss this rally. Since this thread has gone so far afield (I love your "bunny trails" analogy, Sandy), my guess is that the rally itself would be just as crazy.
Y'all be thinkin' about us. Our barn project was delayed and won't start now until the beginning of the year. The steel for it is coming from Houston, one way or another, on January 25th. We have just a month to have the concrete poured for the slab and the other 2/3s of the old pole barn torn down or the Town won't give us a final approval on the new one. It could get really ugly if we get any bad weather at all.
Before anyone asks why I was stupid enough to try to do a project like this in January, please understand that I started last June and am on the second different company who has missed their completion date by more than 60 days. Throw in the usual problems with City approvals and you have the recipe for stuff just not happening like I planned it.
Hopefully, this mess will be over by Valentine's Day and we can get back onto the rally circuit.
Missing all of you.
Charlie

Hey Charlie it's too darn cold to be working on a new barn. Why don't you take a break and come on over and stay warm around our roaring campfire. Err Ah Campfar !

Don, I really wish that we could. I certainly didn't plan to be working on a barn project at this time of the year. The original completion date was 10/31, then 12/15. Now, It will not be before 2/12. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f64/so-wh...ill-59617.html
That is a link to my post that covers less than half of the problems with the project. I really should be working on it full time but I have this other full time project (called my job) that keeps getting in the way.
This is a picture of the old barn before we completed the demo on the first section. To get my final approval for the new one, all of this has to be down. Today, the middle section (with the garage door) and the far section are still filled with "stuff". I have one 8x8x20 portable container on site and will get the other one on Monday morning. So I have to empty the barn, tear it down, get the new building up and inspected. I still don't have a permit for anything and they are threatening me with big fines if I do any more. That problem gets solved this Thursday when I receive the SECOND SET OF COMPLETE FOUNDATION ENGINEERING DIAGRAMS. I've had to pay two different engineers to get the paperwork that the Town wants in the time frame that they want it. While this is all going on, the steel for the building is being fabricated in Houston and will be delivered, whether I'm ready or not on February 9. As you can see, there are a lot of things that have to have and the three man crew that I'm using (me, myself and I) just isn't producing. I'm going to have a stern talk with all of the first thing on Monday. They are going to be working long hours every weekend now until the new barn is complete. I don't care how cold it gets Actually, I have another crew who is going to pour the new concrete slab and 2nd crew that will actually erect the steel on the new building. Everything else falls to my 3 man crew.
You just cannot get good help these days.
Charlie
