July 4th HC Area Campout Cancelled

With the devastation of Top Of The Hill RV Park in Comfort/Boerne on Sunday due to a wildfire, the decision has been made to cancel the July 4th event entirely.

Relocating an event this close to the rally date is a difficult task even under the best of circumstances, but this particular tragedy coupled with extreme drought and record breaking heat this summer makes it even more difficult.

The Skidds, The McKibbins and The Kramers, guest hosts for the event, emailed me this morning ...........

Sandy, the general concensus is that we are going to cancel this rally. There were too many activities centered around the amenities at Top of the Hill and no one feels that there is enough time to "re-group" and ascertain the amenities on which we were counting are available. Neither Skyline nor Miller Creek has a pool...and with this heat that appears to be an issue. Please give us the opportunity to sponsor a rally in the future... I was thoroughly looking forward to it! See you Labor Day! Lou Skidd

I extend my utmost appreciation to the guest hosts for all their planning and effort put into this rally and will certainly plan another event in 2012!

I also extend my sincerest appreciation to Carolyn at "The Farm", Skyline RV Park in Bandera and Miller Creek RV Resort in Johnson City for their offers to take us in. These parks are true "gems" in my books!

Have a happy............and safe............July 4th where ever you are or where ever you travel to.

Keep Top of the Hill in your thoughts and keep praying for rain!

Sandy
