Life and Times of Baby Dunkette

Several weeks ago at a gathering of child trafficers dressed all in pink, Barb and I were duped into purchasing a precious package. Before we knew it, Don Allen hollered out "SOLD TO THE ELLERBROCKS FOR 5 BUCKS". After opening our "special" box we found out we had just adopted "Baby Dunkette" !!!

We questioned the birth of this infant and was shown the Birth Certificate which sure did look "official".

We were then brought in front of a couple legal looking guys, Barrister #1 (Rusty Creekmore) on behalf of the Texas Boomers, Barrister #2 (Charlotte Shodrock) on behalf of Baby Dunkette and Da Judge (Ken Wilson). Judge rattled off a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo but the bottom line was we were now the legal NEW PARENTS!!!

Well we thought we would document our trials and tribulations with all of you as we attempt to raise Baby Dunkette as a well rounded Texan. The first few nights were a blur for us with all the crying and the stinky diapers (thought we were past all this). She still does not like to go down for her nap. At a recent campout as we were relaxing outside of our coach, we caught the little SH*T angel trying to sneak out of the coach.

After crawling under the coach after her, I caught her and strapped her into her cradle with bungee cords. VOILA, problem solved!!!

Here is a picture of her with some of her new playmates. Its tough keeping the inside of the coach clean when they are all running around and jumping on the furniture.

Last weekend we attended the Texas state-wide Winnebago rally in Montgomery. Baby Dunkette was the hit of the rally as she made the rounds with all the attendees. She especially liked playing card bingo and the washer toss competition (problem was the washers weighed more than she did).

Dont know where we will be next but we will keep you updated right here.

Mike and Barb, So glad to hear she is enjoying her new parents. Looks like she's up to her old tricks again trying to sneek out. Pictures are great, hope she will enjoy the November Campout, see all three of you there.

Barb and Mike, we will be busy at the Cut-N-Shoot campout, so we won't baby available to baby sit... so you are on your own. have you tried locking her in a locker to keep her from wondering off?

Don't let SD (Slam Dunkette) get near Jim.

He has enough trouble taking care of himself.

He already messed it up once with SD.

I like the locker idea - actually we have a safe in the floor of our closet that we could use. We could throw a few of her little playmates in there to keep her company - BRILLIANT IDEA!!!

Jim & Judy - The little "angel" is really looking forward to seeing her birth parents again at Cut & Shoot

Oh my, oh my....don't let this precious child go to school at a place that uses an old cow as the mascot. I think she is surely MIT or Berkley material.

I think this may be what she deserves. She has lived off others since her birth. A liberal school with a huge debt when leaving. Yep, Austin and tu in reality. can't wait til T-day.

UT Football Game

Well, we figured it is never too soon to pick out a college of higher education so last weekend, we all made a visit to the only university in Texas whose degree is worth anything - THE University of Texas. We toured the campus, met some of the students and then signed admission papers for Baby Dunkette to become a member of the freshmen class of 2028!!!!! She was soooooo excited....................

We locked in the price of $45,000 for a 4 year education. Now all she has to do is not drop out of school, get straight A's, stay on the honor roll and stay active in at least 5 extra curricular activities each semester. Then when she graduates as a doctor, she can pay off her loan.

She made a new friend - Mini Bevo - and hung around with him most of the afternoon....................................

They made such a cute couple.

Oh, by the way we decided to go to the football game as long as we were there. Baby Dunkette really got into the spirit of the game and I had a hard time getting the old foam fingers away from her.................................

However, as most of you know, she was born with a very debilitating disfiguration know as FFS (fused fingers syndrome). Well, I used my fish filleting skills and got out the old box cutter and took care of that problem on at least one hand. Problem is she now has only three fingers with no opposing thumb (at least she wont be a thumb sucker). By the end of the game she was hooking em with the rest of the crowd as she proudly proclaimed
HOOK EM HORNS !!!!

When she comes to her senses and realizes she made a horrible mistake and come crawling back to her birth parents...of course with wads of money in her dowry all will be well with the universe. I'm so sorry she had to watch tu's massacre in Austin last week and I only hope she will somehow be with us in College Station on thanksgiving day to see another good football team play tu.

If she has wads of money in her dowry, I'll keep her on a leash so she does not go crawling anywhere. I hope you have a good time in college station on thanksgiving sitting in an empty stadium (the game is in Austin). And no she wont be there - she cant afford to go to 2 games in one year but we will be watching while sipping margaritas outside our coach at Rayford Crossing - come join us.
