Has any motorcoach folks gone to Texas Motorplex to the races? In field or just camped outside? Can you tell me about your trip and maybe some tips.

I sent your message to a couple of friends I know who go up there who might be able to give you some insight to the MH facilities and such.

Don't know about parking at the track as I have never done it but an option might be Hickory Creek Park which is a Us Dept Of Engineers park on Lake Lewisville. It is a beautiful, well maintained, reasonably priced facility and we have stayed there many times. Bit of a drive to the track but not too bad. You have to book way early for a race weekend tho.

I have camped there every year for the past 10+ years, twice a year. 90% of the camping is "dry". There is one area that has power but not sure about water. It is very expensive, very crowded, and all asphalt. Inside the track is also dry camping and party central. Those spots are also pretty costly. I think the outside spots are the best for the price, if you are willing to bring your water and generate your power. They have water service ($25 to fill) and the "pooper" trucks run all the time (also $25 I believe). All spots are 20 x 40 and have a good gravel base, which is now grown over and very nice. Most all are fairly level. We love it. Will be glad to answer any other questions you might have. Oh, one other thing.......there are shower and bathroom facilities out there also. I've used them in the past but that's why I have the 5TH wheel now.

We also have a camp spot at the race track that we use three times a year. We are on the outside of the track in what is called VIP Campground. The spots are again 20 x 40 with 20/30/50 amp service and water. The camp ground is asphalt, which if it rains, no sinking or get stuck. This past year, the "pooper" trucks were $30 or $35. I know they have gone up in price. You can call the race track for information about price, but I believe it will be $750 for the November race. You are allowed to move in the week end before the race.
