Download the RVParky app. Sounds kinda corny but it's a great resource for finding good parks and the reviews have been spot on.
We live just west of Ft Worth. Our saying is life's too short to go to or live in Dallas. 😀

Get a year long State park pass... $70 bucks. gets you into all state parks free as many times as you want and gets you discounted camping fees . We have used it at over 25 Texas state parks so far. Buy it on the 1st day of the month and you actually get 13 months of use..

Bonham State Park near Bonham, about an hour away from DFW northeast suburbs (McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen).

Hickory Creek Corp of Engineer Park in Lewisville, just south of Denton so virtually on the north fringe of DFW.

There are some nice Corps parks on Lake Ray Roberts.
Try Cedar Hill state park.
Check out Loyd Park in Grand. Prairie. A nice one.

Oops. I should clarify this is not a state park. Just a really nice campground. Cedar Hill is our go to State Park in the DFW area. Stayed there many times in our 40’ Class A.
