Thank you for the update to a poor situation that could happen to anyone.

Good luck with the outcome.

I am looking for some sort of skid plate to protect the pan and filter from a recurrence. Probably never happen in a million years again.

I did talk to one fellow that lost the transmisson oil on a diesel pusher when he hit a road 'gator. Ripped open the pan and dumped the oil. Had him down for almost 2 weeks getting a new pan.

So be watchful of road debris.

Nope, still waiting. The engine came late Friday and they had the truck in the work bay on Monday, getting ready to work on it. The service manager said we should be able to pick it up Friday. They are going to keep it for a day or so after they have completed the work and drive/run it to make sure all is OK.

Then we will run it some more doing some sight seeing before we hook up and go.

Great news Ken, that means you can get it all done and make it in time for the Halloween Rally in Athens, right?

Hi Ken,
Glad to hear work on the new engine is coming along. Here's hoping you come out ok when all is said and done.

We spent a week in the Grand Canyon area. Stunning place. I couldn't imagine before actually seeing the canyon. Pictures really can't do it justice.

We now have about 2500 miles on the new engine and are in Tomball, TX. The Ford dealer in Knoxville, Lance Cunningham Ford, did a great job and the truck is like new.

After the core credit on the old engine, Progressive wound up paying over $19,800.00 plus th rental car, plus the campground in Knoxville.

So other than the aggravation and being stuck in Knoxville for almost three weeks, we are good to go.

Thanks for asking.

Ken
