What do the scammers hope to accomplish? Do people actually send money to them without seeing a product in person?

If it was not profitable for them, they would not waste their time posting fake ads.

Getting really tired of the fact that most of the people who have ads on Craigslist never respond to inquires. They are either too lazy or just plain rude not to take down their ads after selling.

I was messing with an Indian caller today. He said he was from the IRS and he said I had a warrant for my arrest! Uh oh! I asked him "well how can I pay you!? Can I just give you credit card info?" Of course he said no, and then told me to remain on the line and go to my closest CVS, Walgreen's ect and get "Google Play" prepaid cards. hahahahahah. People fall for that? He was saying the government now takes payment using google play cards. I laughed and he said he was sending officers to my address. I told him I was in the wilderness camping and they would never find me! He hung up on me after that. :(

So I never got to pay the IRS with my google play cards. Darn..

I look for deals on Craigslist because occasionally there is a legit add that is reasonable. But many are scams looking for email addresses or worse, to defraud, and a lot lost at stupid high prices. And as was stated earlier, if it looks too good to be true, it is.

FaceBook market place (much as I dislike Face Book) is better because you can look at the sellers page and get a feel for who you are dealing with.

But for any serious RV search I focus on RVT.com and RVTrader.com for a lot of reasons, not just because they are legit adds. You can fine tune parameters in the “custom Search” sections, save searches, save adds, get email alerts, etc. Much better way to shop.

I made a couple custom searches and waited almost a year for a 2016 Ventana 3427 to come up for sale. Finally two became available the same week, one on each site, so I actually had a choice, but without custom searches and email alerts I would have missed my “perfect coach”.
