Slide out header water damage

Just bought a used camper and after it thawing out there is a lot of water damage in the header of the slide out and in to the wall. This is an aluminum stud trailer with laminated sides. Any ideas how to fix it. Everything I look at on YouTube is all wood framed and not aluminum. Spent way to much on it now and after taking it to a camper guy he said it’s all foam and then the aluminum frame holding that in.

Help!

Chris Ackley.

Can you post any pictures or a link to pictures? It hard to access what you are talking about without being able to see it.

In the mean time make sure you stop the source of the leak if you have not already. With the RV's I have had, I wait until it is pouring rain, then go inside with a flashlight and check every single inch of the inside for any leaks. The source may not be where you are seeing the water enter. 99% of the time there is a caulk seal failure on the roof or slide top or slide seals themselves.

Yes, before any repairs happen I will be resealing the whole camper from the roof to the walls and ever caulk area. I will be pulling off the lights and caulking them and anything else that needs to be done.
