12 volt problem

The 12 volt system only works when the Motorhome is running. House batteries are fully charged and charger/inverter is new.

2006 Fleetwood Expedition 38N. I have both.

Unfortunately, to get any answers and advice worth following , we're going to need ; ALL your coach info ; year, make , model and floor plan .

Also we need to know your 12 volt skill level and if you own a multimeter and a 12 volt test light.

What has been done before problem happened?
Do you have disconnect on?
How long have you owned MH?

Check and clean frame ground/s of house battery, as well as basics like battery cables an connections. Possible of inverter being hooked directly to house battery pos & neg and even charge house batts but rest of MH rely on having the house frame ground. When MH is running the batteries combine it's getting power and ground through chassis batteries.

What voltage are the batteries at when they are "fully charged"? Around 13.8V means that you're reading the alternator charge voltage. With everything off (engine, shoreline unplugged, all loads removed from batteries), a fully charged, resting battery (or pairs of 6V batteries) will have a reading of around 12.6V. If the measurement is about 12V, then the batteries are half discharged. At 11V, they are almost fully depleted.

My rig has two inline large fuses between the batteries and inverter/charger.

If failed they will produce your symptoms.

Perhaps yours does also?

SUSPICION is that one of the 12vdc CIRCUIT BEAKERS beside COACH/RV battery (usually within 18"-36") is tripped or defective. Was someone doing something when you noted power went out? (E.g. Lost my fuse panel 12v power when Operating SLIDE and electric solenoid stuck shut, (= overload) and lights went out because it tripped that breaker and 30a fuse panel was connected thru that breaker by battery.
