An Alpine will be on their own proprietary chassis, call Peak.

Someone should have the PN's for you-- different than our 2003 which had fixed caliper disk brakes.

Rotors (front and rear are same) Centric Brand pn# CEB-120.83014
Calipers (front and rear are same) Centric Brand pn# CEB-141.83005 (originals castings should be 3153222)
Brake Pads carbon semi met. (front and rear are same) WPDO786T
Front Wheel Seals Chicago Rawhide pn# 35066
Front Hub Gasket 330-3009
EP 90wt for hubs.
Note, you'll need a very strong 1/2" impact to remove the rotor bolts from the hubs.
Wheel torque #450 ft lbs.
DOT4 synthetic is fine Do a complete brake system flush, 2 quarts minimum. It helps to unbolt the fluid reservoir.
Not a very difficult job if you take your time.
Most of the time this era Alpine "needs rotors" is a combination of two things. One, the caliper slide hardware lacks lubrication and they are stuck.
Two, the brake fluid hasn't been flushed for some time and the phenolic pistons are sticking. Phenolics don't hold up well with any moisture in the brake fluid.
Take this tip from a lifelong professional mechanic who likes to save a buck...buy new everything, once and done.

So I assume you are a potential new Alpine owner?
Welcome aboard.

Oh, one more thing if the front brakes overheated...
Count on the front ABS sensors being toasted. Super cheap to replace.

I am also about 1 day away from becoming an Alpine owner! In today’s test ride of the 1999, the left rear wheel turned to a cloud of blue smoke and haze. Obvious the caliper stuck!? Would you assume those parts #s are similar to the 2000 you spoke to Mark about? Thanks

One additional question for the group.

Our coach is a 2001 built-in 10/2000............any idea when Alpine made the changeover on the disc brakes from floating to fixed?

I had all brakes replaced around 5 years ago and it was around 5000 so figure at least 2500 for the rear at today's prices probably more!

Should be a really quick determination.

Are their pistons on only one side of the caliper (sliding caliper)

OR

Both sides of the caliper (fixed caliper)

Parts only, Roughly $600 per axle if you need new rotors. Those part numbers I listed above are correct for the two piston floating calipers which your future 99 will have.
Find a good local brake and clutch supply jobber for best pricing and quality. Most of them can resurface your original rotors if within thickness spec. Ours weren't in the front, but we're in the rear. I bought all new rotors and had the rears resurfaced to keep on hand. Front and rear rotors, calipers and pads are the same.
Remanufactured calipers will come with all new slide hardware.
I believe WRV switched over to the fixed calipers in early 2001 models, but not absolutely sure of that.
Good luck with your new rig.

Hello Paul 65k, WRV converted from the 2 piston-floating calibers to the fixed caliber in the early 2001-model year. My 2001, 74362, Alpine was also built in 10/2000 and was equipped with the fixed caliber. So somewhere between yours and mine. The strange thing about the build date, we special ordered our Alpine in October 2000. So my gut feeling is the build date is assigned when they received the order for the Alpine not when it is actually started. Our Alpine was delivered to the dealer in January 2001.
