2007 Monaco Dynasty Residential Fridge Inverter Compatibility
We own a 2007 Monaco Dynasty Platinum IV.
It has the original Norcold 1210 in it. fridge works fine with nothing in it. when we load it up with food, it struggles to keep up. We installed circulation fans inside the fridge to help. Even went as far as pulling the fridge out and removing the duct tape from factory and filling cracks with foam and new aluminum tape. We also installed new cooling fans on back and a new thermistor and temp sensor. Still nothing. Ive been doing some research to possibly swap it out with a Samsung RF18. We have a Magna Sine MS2812 inverter.
What I'm wondering is that if this inverter is compatible with this fridge? Also do I have to remove front windshield to bring the new fridge in the coach? Thanks for any input!

Is replacing cooling unit a better option?
Also, I was wondering if just replacing the cooling unit on the Norcold would be a better option?

Two options:
1) I have a friend who a month ago was finding that the fridge was not staying cool and found online a suggestion that if you pull out the fridge, stand it upside down for several hours and then put back that it would help. He did that and says that his fridge is now sub-zero and too cold. Worked super well.
2) I have the same Norcold fridge and replaced with the Amish cooler. Wasn't too difficult. Good instructions. Works great. I didn't want to go to a residential as I have a furnace below the fridge in my model. I also like the built-in look with matching cabinets.

The inverter is likely a modified sine wave model. Compatability would have to be confirmed by the mfgr of the refer.
Post the model of the inverter. Likely a Magnum 2012.
I converted my 2008 refer to a residential and do not run it on the inverter. It gets cold quickly and stays fine for four hours at least. We usually run the generator to operate the AC units or the microwave when we stop for food.
You can replace the inverter or even add a second one to run the refer.
We have had our residential for about 8 years and love it.
We took the drivers side window out to send the refer through. In some cases, the refer can come through the front door.

I removed my Norcold and installed a Samsung RF18 in my rig and it is being powered by a MSW Trace 2000 watt inverter. It is one of the first refrigerators that would run on a MSW inverters.
There are others now so do some research.
When I removed the Norcold I removed the cooling unit, the original install was terrible, there was a large gap so the cooling couldn't/wouldn't transfer to the inside of the fridge. I think if I would have reinstalled the cooling unit it might have solved my problem.

Your MS2812 is a pure sinewave inverter/charger, it will run any brand of fridge fine.

Your inverter will power any residential fridge. I opted to go through the dining room window. It's fairly simple and doesn't require much to reseal.
If your NoCold has a ice maker....BONUS....you will have a seperate AC plug for it. That outlet is already wired to the inverter. The main plug isn't. I personally don't like Samsung productes and have an 18cf Electrolux (Whirlpool etc) installed.
Good luck.

The benefits of replacing with a Samsung RF18 (or other residential fridge) are much more than just the compressor. It's 50% larger capacity (18 vs 12 cu ft), far better insulated, has internal air circulation to chill evenly throughout, and never needs defrosting. You can get the benefit of the compressor by installing the Amish compressor unit, but you still have all the other shortcomings of the old 12xx box.
The advantage of the Amish compressor is that you don't have to do any cabinet remodeling to install it. Pull out the 1210, swap cooling units, and push the fridge back in the same hole.

Swapped out for samsung rf18 in a friends 05 dynasty with the heater under the double door rv fridge with no problem. New fridge fit through the door only had to remove the arm so door would open past 90 degrees and lowered the floor under old fridge, plenty of room above the heater. 2 110v receptacles 1 is on inverter the other is not. Insulated walls and access covers with 2in foam board and used lowes L brackets screwed to floor and fridge and top front of fridge
Working great for 4 years now.
