In college I worked for a machine shop in the summer. I built large electrical panels with 220VAC.
Boss told me several times go back and tighten all electrical connections several times. He was right, I always found semi loose ones.
Years later I'm still doing it.
No problems since, but I find others people's loose connections all the time.

The information was presented because a standard is better than randomness.

Owners are free to pick the torque value within the range and see how it works out for them. The point was to avoid randomly over-torquing terminals and to have an objective standard (from a guy who is an electrical inspector, has been a working electrician, and is on one of the NEC code committees) for inspection.

On our previous coach, we smelled something electrical burning. We found that the master CB was melting. We assume it was do to a loose connection.
