4 corner weighing at a grain store

Hi,

A local grain store will let me do a 4 corner weighing as the Cat scale will not.

Would this be accurate enough as it's not designed for 4 corner weighing.

There are instructions when using a Cat scale. I would do four corners at the feed store if available

It will work just fine. Try and pull on so the coach wheel is as far on the scale as possible.
And don’t go when they are busy.

If they aren’t charging you a box of cookies will go a long way.

Good luck

Thanks both,

They said to wait 3 weeks until when the harvest is in. The charge will be 20$.

I weigh mine at a local salvage yard I do a little business with. They have a movable head that they just turn around so I can see it from outside through a window. I weigh late in the afternoon after they close so I can take all the time I want.

If the surrounding area around the scale bed where the unweighed tires will be setting isn't as perfectly flat as the scale bed, it can throw your weights off quite a bit.

I weighed mine at a grain elevator about 1/2 mile from my home. It is pretty level around it so I feel as though it was pretty accurate. All of my corner weights added up about 150 Lbs different than my total weight and I think that is close enough. The manager there told me they leave the scales on at night so I could just do it whenever it worked for me and that way I could take all the time I need. I have a tag axle so it takes a couple more readings to get everything and then I adjusted my tag pressure which meant I had to start over since adding weight to the tag also adds weight to the front and removes from the drive axle. It is kind of a balancing act.

Hi all,

Sounds like the grain elevator is the way to go.

Thanks all,
