I carry a 15' 50a extension. That gives me a total of about 43' from the RV. I've used it a few times ... mostly for pulling nose-in at a back-in site ... once or twice to use a pedestal at another site for troubleshooting.

I agree the only time I would use one is to be face to face with one of my kids. I found 30' of cord so that is how long I am going to make mine. No way should you ever need anything longer. I am an electrician so I don't want to get caught with my pants down.
