Adding Stabil question

Hi,

The 100gallon gas tank on my rig needs Stabil added in the next month or so. Fuel tank is full and plan to drive only 100 miles or so before storing for winter.

Should I add Stabil now and let driving around mix it up? Or wait until last fuel top up?

Thanks,

You could add it now or just before your last fill up. As long as there is a little movement , it will mix quite quickly.

Mix it now. Gasoline starts to degrade pretty quickly, so the sooner the stabil the better.

It was Stabil storage I purchased. A buddy told me to use Stabil Marine instead.

I used Stabil Storage last year and had no issues this spring on either the engine or the genset.

I swear by the stuff on anything that sits for more than a month...even have used double the recommended amount on small engines with no issues...only drawback shelf life is one year according to manufacturer

While driving don't forget to run the genset for at least 15 minutes to insure the Stabil treated fuel gets entirely through its fuel system too.
Gasoline begins to deteriorate in 30 days, bio-diesel fuel begins to stratify in 3 months (todays fuel mixtures).
