Advice on Awning material repair

The binding on the edge of my awning material has come undone. It is a very small area near the coach when the awning is out. (about a 6 inch area)
It is beginning to fray the material so I would like to get it repaired. Are there any suggestions without having to remove the awning from the MH? Do you think that an upholstery shop could make the repair without having to remove the material or is there something that I could do to repair it myself? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

If 6" long needs restitched..Buy one of those hand awls with spool and some awning heavy nylon thread. We patched many a canvas tent back in the day. I still have it lol.
You could call a shop and send a pic to a cell phone or email. See if they would hand stitch for you.

Not nylon...use Sailrite pfte UV resistant thread..will outlast the material. You can find small amounts, spool ends on Ebay sometimes.

If it's on the side edge, the simplest, if not most elegant, repair is to simply bind the fraying edge with awning tape. If it's on the seam where the top edge makes a bead to slip into the groove on the sidewall, stitching might be better.
