Advice on getting screws to hold on a damaged storage door

Hi,

Some of the screws securing the storage bay locks are completely rusted and the doors are loose when closed.

Also looks like whatever kind of particle board is in the door is damaged.

How would I get new screws to hold in place?

I use wooden toothpicks and a good wood glue. Coat each toothpick end with glue and break it off in the hole. Continue doing this until the hole is stuffed with as many toothpicks as you can get in there. Let it sit overnight and it should be good.

Yep...

I've also used matchsticks, chopsticks, and pencils. Anything that will give you new bite with the threads.

I won't normally let it sit though: compressing all that with the screw gets it all to set in the place you want, IMO. Probably doesn't make much difference either way.

Agreed, I have done it both ways.
