Airbag pressures?

Hi guys, I just had new airbags put on my coach and it rides really hard now. When I connected them to the compressor it automatically inflated them to 70 pounds. Does anyone know if it should be adjusted to a lower pressure? The Ride Now is very hard and like riding on rocks. Then again it may be the poor roads in Ohio.

What brand of air bags ?
Nothing in owners manual about pressure adjustments ?
Most systems would have a minimum pressure in the 30 PSI range, and individual preference after that.

What kind of coach do you have that you are measuring the air pressure in your air bags? In a coach with an air suspension, the pressure is automatically adjusted to maintain ride height.

I run 65 psi rear only

I only have the rear airbags, I may try a little more on my upcoming trip. It is not harsh riding in my rv.

More accurate answers could be obtained if :

Year/make/model/engine/trans/chassis was supplied.

Ok, it's a 2007 dynamax isata. With a V10 Ford, E450,the Bags are firestone 5406/5409s. Same bags they just changed the number. It has a compressor that automatically filled them to 70lbs. But each has an individual air Chuck on the fender.

If you have no info on adjusting the compressor output, shut down the compressor and set the pressure from the air chucks, drop the pressure 10 psi at a time , until you see the suspension start to drop , then road test for ride quality, then go up 5 psi.
If you can find any part numbers on the compressor contact Firestone for an owners manual.

Great info. I'll get with firestone. I dropped it 10lbs in each bag. It's alittle better. I'm starting to think it is just the way it's supposed to be. It's my first coach and I'm used to passenger cars.

In my opinion, it is really trial and error based on your motorhome. I have firestone airbags and I usually run 35-40 pounds in the front and rear. I have tried up to 60 pounds and found the ride too hard for me.

Okay I disconnected the compressor, and then I drop the pressure to about 50 lbs each but now the tank pumps it back up to 70. What am I missing?
