American Coach

Looking to see if anyone has had an American Coach motor home, if so what is your opinion of them?

I don't have one. But during our search for a coach they were on our short list along with Travel Supreme, Beaver (Patriot Thunder/Marquis), Country Coach (Allure/Magna/Affinity), Monaco (Dynasty/Executive/Signature and Holiday Rambler equivalent), Newmar (Mountain Aire), Foretravel, and a few others. So I placed American's line in pretty good company.

For the model years we were looking at, this was now 8 years ago and we were looking for pre heavy smog changed engined coaches 2006 and earlier - we found that many of these above models had interior decor materials that were not to our personal liking. (And that's for sure a personal thing.) American coaches we checked, just did not hit our personal interior material designs.

Best to you on your search,
Smitty

I started out with a 96 Fleetwood TT I bought new.
Sold and bought another Fleetwood TT bigger
Sold and bought a used 99 Fleetwood Discovery MH
Sold bought bigger New 2010 Tiffin Allegro Bus 43ft
Lost bus in fire one yr old
Replaced with New 2011 AC Tradition
now have 35k miles. Went to factory for 1 yr checkup and has not seen a dealer or shop since.
All brands have problems.
I've watched as a large fan base has touted Tiffins praises.
Then off to the Entegra camp and now some are moving on to Newmar. Must be nice to be so RICH
As u can see I have had 4 Fleetwood products and Im not afraid of another.
Keep doing your homework and have fun!
Eric

I have an 2002 Eagle. It has been a good coach. I would consider another AC coach.

We have a 2005 American Tradition. Happy with it and plan on keeping it.

We moved from a 2005 Fleetwood Providence to a 2011 American Eagle. So far the only issues have been with accessories and due to age. Things like a new circulator pump on the aquahot. It needs a new skylight dome. But the frame is massive, ride is great. What sold us was the floor plan. We looked at Alegro bus, liked the floor plan but a few things weren't as well built as the AE. We also looked at a Newmar Essex and did not like the ride and with the slides in there was zero room. Just an example of the build quality I have attached a picture of the door hinge. It's like home, at times we forget it's a motorhome.

American Coach Tech Support was the best. Rev group may have diluted that, I don't know about that.

They are still great. My only issue was the parts department. I emailed the parts line and now if I am looking for an item I email and they get back in a few hours so now all is well.

We are on AC #2. All RVs will have issues, but our ACs are fine, with the best tech support anywhere.
chuckster52 needs to give it up, he posts the same post on every AC thread.
