Another slide problem…Airstream

I have a 1999 Airstream Cutter with a single slide. The flooring is carpet and ceramic. The slide, when in, has about an inch gap at the bottom (exterior). I had it at the RV shop for some work and asked them check the slide and adjust if necessary. The shop said that the floor was high in the kitchen area causing the slide to “ride-up” when closing. I would think if the floor is high (which it is a little) when the slide was rolled in the tilting would cause the top to have a gap, not the bottom. Any idea's?

I’m planning to replace the carpet (with carpet tiles). Was going to wait on replacing the ceramic (several cracked pieces) with vinyl but realize there would be too much of a height difference between the ceramic and new carpet. If I replaced both how will that affect the slide functionality?

Thanks for all of the assistance!

Steve
