Most people do not use enough water when they flush. After I dump I shut the valve leaving the tank flusher running. I allow the tank to fill to about 20%. I shut the flusher off, that way I have enough "starter fluid" in the tank. I also encourage everyone to use lots of water when they flush. I also do not dump until the black tank is at least 60% full. If I need to dump before then I add water via the tank flusher to get to 60% then dump. Managing the liquid in your black tank is probably the most important thing you can do.
