And the pressure on the sidewall is not the maximum pressure. It is the minimum pressure to carry the maximum weight. At least, that's what some Tireman told me. Where you at, Tireman? Did I get that right?
WHY? I have four tires on the REAR DUALS that I CANNOT read the DATE CODES without dismounting, (BECAUSE) the DATE CODES are now Facing each other... THAT IS a pretty slim space between the tires. Uggggggghhhhh

They didn't have to be mounted that way. Few people rotate their rv tires, they don't get that many miles on them. Insist your tires are mounted as you wish, with the date codes readable and, for me, with the tire pressure against them valve stem, unless they are directional and must be mounted in a particular manner. I cannot imagine why rv/semi tires would be directional.

You can read the date codes that are in-between the tires. In my original post I said the following.

"The driving tires had the date codes mounted so that the codes were between the two tires. I had to use a small mirror on a handle to read those codes while on my back under the coach. It’s a good thing I’m dyslexic and can read numbers that are both backwards and upside down."

I used an inspection mirror which is a small mirror that is mounted on a telescoping handle and can be swiveled in all directions. You can buy the mirrors at the big box stores or auto parts outlets. I used a flash light and had to shine the light at about a 45 deg angle to the letters to see them in the mirror. It's a pain in the hip to lay on the ground between the tires but if you need to know the date code you do what you have to do.

Some tires have date codes on both sides, but I think most only have the date code on one side. When I had some Coopers put on my truck several months back, I tried to check the code, and I thought they were hiding something from me by putting the codes inward But the best-looking side of the tire was out and the code was only on the inside. Turned out they were pretty fresh tires only made three months before I had them mounted. I just picked up a Toyo I had put on the spare rim of my motorhome, and it's only 2 months old.

In response to you question....
I never seen date codes on both sides of the tire (I have been selling commercial tires for 35 years and have visited a dozen tire plants all over the world). Having the date code on 1 side of the tire (the bottom side of the tire mold) means the tire plants only have to have change the 1 side of the mold at the start of each week --- this speeds in the production process.
Hope this answers your questions and safe travels to you
