Antenna crank very stiff

Is there somewhere I can spray some lube to get this antenna crank working better?
Its so stiff that the plastic crank handle has stripped and even with vice grips it takes some strength to get the antenna off the roof then it eases up for the rest of the trip up and back down.

Mine did the same thing, all I did was to go up top and removed a large hex cap cover and sprayed silicone lube and had someone crank while being sprayed. All is good.

Camperkids has it right-silicone spray (don't use WD-40) does the trick.
Here is a link to the antenna manual

In my opinion, silicone spray will not last long. I climbed up on the roof and applied wheel bearing grease to the gear sector and the worm drive.

Worked great for over 10 years, then I sold the RV.

You can buy a catsup sized packet of grease at any auto parts store.

I also used a little chassis grease. Not a big wad, but put a little on finger tip and smeared on the gear.
You have to get on roof to access it.

One of the most neglected spots needing attention. It usually gets the needed care after it gets too hard to manage.

Once a year or so I have sprayed with WD40 or Silicone lube on the shaft from above. I do not remove anything, just raise the antenna and spray plenty on the shaft to let it work its way downward. When the antenna gets a bit jerky going down, I know it is time to re-do it.

I just had to replace the rooftop coax on mine. While I had it apart, I lubed the antenna crank and swivel with silicon spray. WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

Scroll down near the end of the article to see how I lubed the antenna.
