Any Help Greatly Appreciated!!

My wife and I will be buying a used Motorhome before the end of summer.
Because of the space we have to store it, it has to be 26-27'
After reading literally hundreds of posts and as many hours of research, we are now more confused than ever!
Class C or Class A in this size?
Diesel or Gas? What brands/lines are best? ( Seems like one poster's favorite is another's lemon! )
We are not wealthy yet we want to pick a quality rig that will be likely to give us 30-50K of trouble free cruising!
Ideas?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

In that price range and size you are looking for I would suggest a class C gas coach. I feel a good quality to look at is the Lazy Daze, not one of the cheaper models on the road. Good luck with your search.

Winnebago Intent 26M is a class A others may offer one that short. Google Winnebago Intent 26M vs blank ......see what comes up and check length. That length would be mostly available class C and gas, unless a Sprinter based class C that has a front mounted Diesel and gets very good mileage at a higher investment.

You will find more Class C in that size range than Class A. In your price range you are probably looking at close to 10 years old for a small class A. The small class A’s tend to sell pretty fast and often for a premium price.

I agree with a lazy daze class C, great quality but they can be tough to find.

Keep in mind advertised length and actual length is seldom the same. My 23’ class A is actually 24’3”

As for trouble free cruising in a motorhome, that is not always an achievable goal.

Your storage site: Is that the actual interior dimension? What about door / ceiling opening dimensions? If the area is that short, then the ceiling is probably low...

A Class A has more interior room for foot of length.

As others have said, there is advertised length and then there is actual length which is more important. You have mirrors to consider (width and length depending on their location).

Gas will be more bang for the buck than Diesel. If you are on a budget, and only thinking 50K miles, buy Gas. I see you like Ford. Buy an F53 Ford chassis based Class A if you can find one that short. Double check the Height!

Trouble free: No RV is trouble free. Just get that out of your mind. If you buy brand new, you will be dealing with multiple issues that the selling dealer will take care of...but there is a period of time to deal with that. Factor that In.
If you buy used but recent model year, then you will save a LOT of money and the previous owner would have dealt with the birth pains. A good inspection from someone knowlegeball is essential. Buying an older will be best bang for the buck but puts much more emphasis on the good inspection and you should be handy DIY wise to take care of enevitble issues that WILL come up. No matter what, put money in the bank for the unforseen that always comes up.

Storage area is 11'W, 12'H and a little more than 27' 3" Long...
Hence the need for a specific size rig.
We want as roomy a unit as possible, without getting something flimsy or with a real short wheelbase...
So we are really leaning towards the Class A, but one that can tow a 2,600 lb toad!
