Auto Generator Start

I have programmed the auto start for my onan on my 06 Revolution several times as per the instructions I have. It seems to be set but after an hour or so goes back to "manual" setting. I don't think I am programming it wrong, so is there something else ?

Thanks

The system resets to manual if you start the generator manually. You can change the run mode from RV to other and the auto start will stay on all the time.

AGS: 08 AGS TECH
Gen Run Read Only ≥ Level 1 ≥ Rev 5.0 ≥ Rev 1.5*
AGS VDC Read Only ≥ Level 1 ≥ Rev 5.0 ≥ Rev 1.5
AGS Rev Read Only ≥ Level 1 ≥ Rev 5.0 ≥ Rev 1.5
Temp Read Only ≥ Level 1 ≥ Rev 5.0 ≥ Rev 1.5
AGS Mode RV, Other ≥ Level 1 ≥ Rev 5.0 ≥ Rev 2.5

I believe I read somewhere that the AGS resets to "off" each time you start the coach. I think it's a safety feature to make sure you don't move it into an enclosed space, then have the generator automatically start there.

This happens sometimes depending on how the inverter remote, which usually includes the auto start function, is wired up. The inverter will disable auto gen start if the clock isn't set on the inverter. If the clock setting is lost then auto gen start is disabled.

Probably ought to let us know what autostart system you have, might make the answers more relevant...

OH YOU MEAN THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. Tried to get 350 amp 12 v fuse for a foretravel ( special order build) today and they could not get part number from their computers since everyone is built to order. Had to pull old part since you could not see part number with flashlight and mirror.

Found they did not stock that part but could order it from Canada and about a week with customs. Found part at Rv supplier who could ship priority today and should have before weekend to put back in.

I used jumper cables to bypass where the fuse used to live and everything works for now.

I am much happier with Monaco support now. They can tell me how mine was built and what should have been done on asm line Not an as built but should have been.

Mine has issue that eng batteries do not charge since solar is under large tree and it and in motion are blocked where I park. I was told I have big boy but that is not what they put in mine So I do not have wiring diag.

Oh well

yes, as mentioned, the terms 'RV' and 'OTHER' seem misleading to us, since we might assume that 'well, we are using this in an RV, so of course that should be my choice, right?' - nay, nay!

The type 'RV' is designed to provide a security for the AGS if someone is working at, on, or near the generator if it should start automatically. They can manually cut off the generator at the unit, or in the coach, and not have to find and reprogram your remote panel setting. Whenever you have the AGS enabled, but decide to manually turn OFF the generator, it will default back to 'not enabled'(disabled) and will not automatically restart the next time. It's like turning off Future AGS starts without having to reset or reprogram the panel. But, of course, it also won't restart the next time!

The type 'OTHER' is actually what most of us RVr's want to use. When you have the AGS set to ENABLE, and decide anytime to manually start or stop the generator, it will NOT disable the 'Enable' AGS feature and will continue to start automatically in the future as needed.
