Awning Pine Sap Removal

I've got pine sap on one of the slide out awnings. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the fabric?

I have had very good success using turpentine to remove pine sap. Dont know much about you awning I would recommend to test it first. I used it on a Sunbrella type fabric.

i put it on let stand for a minute or so and wipe off with a rag that is wet with turpentine.
