I have an A&E 9000 patio awning with a slight bend in the tube. Last Thanksgiving it caught water in a sudden storm when I was away from the coach. I have been able to straighten about half of the bow, but it still bends about 3-5 inches in the middle. I am looking for advice on how to straighten it further.

I have wedged a board between the M/H sidewall and the tube with the awning extended, and this pushes the tube into proper alignment while the board is in place. This is how I did the initial straightening. I'm afraid to put too much stress on the fabric this way, so a little bow remains.

Any suggestions on how to remove the remaining bow to thighten the fabric short of replacing the whole awning?

I would be very careful in pushing it more, as you can cause a wrinkle or a break in the tube. I think that you might be able to remove the arms from the sides of the RV and fasten them to the ground. The place a strong board under the center of the tube parallel to the tube, and another from that to the ground, with a jack under the lower end of that board. You can then gently apply more pressure under the center of the tube, until it has a slight upward bow. It will spring back some when the pressure is released. But do this very slowly to avoid going too far and examine the tube at each step to make sure that you do not crease it.
