I just bought a large Class-C, 2002 Coachmen Leprechaun 313QB - that I intend to use with a toad. The previous own has a backup camera with a license plate mount, so it is low and off center - next to useless. The screen is in the radio unit so I can't have the camera on and see the navigation or radio at the same time.

I want to install a camera high up and on the center so that I can monitor the toad while in motion and also see behind me. I'm also considering a rearview mirror screen since the mirror is basically useless.

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Did this have a factory camera system? If the wires still in tact I would do a hard wire. System... I did a color wireless it was ok, some interference with people walking around in the camper and night vision was black and white, was more than a hardwire system.

If no wires you can tap power for wireless camera from your clearance lights on roof,,,just need to run your running light for the camera to work.

I installed the Garmin GPS with a camera in my 27 foot class C. Works pretty great. Installed the camera up high and centered. It looks over the toad. You have the option of having backup grid lines when backing up with a couple of touches of the button. The Garmin GPS has all waypoints and place is loaded in it so it doesn't matter if it has cell service. I also have a factory-installed camera that shows up on the radio and I can see the hitch in the two corners of a coach. No excuse for me to hit anything backing up.

When my old obsolete Sony BU camera system failed I bought and installed a Voyager rear camera system. i works fine,just wish I'd bought a 3 camera system.

I rolled the dice and bought a 4 camera system on Amazon for $200.00 with good reviews. Install was easy enough and now I have 2 cameras on the rear, 1 for rear view and 1 for rear hitch view when hooking up the trailer or dolly. Picture quality is pretty good, can't really give a true review until road use when this crappy Ohio weather breaks!

I think there are several good brands. I've always bought Rear View Safety products, but that my preference.

I've used wireless systems before for simple installation. As others said mount it high and centered using power from a top running light. As for the monitor I always mount them where the rearview mirror would be. I take the mirror off first, useless in many Class Cs. Then I find someplace I can tape a hot lead to a forward running light, depends on chassis. Then run the hot/ground up the A-post and in the plastic moulding at the top of the windshield to the center point.

I do not like having a monitor doubling in the dash radio/GPS device. If I am dealing with lane changes for an upcoming exit I want both GPS and monitor working at the same time not switching things around while in heavy traffic. By mounting it top-center it is right where we are accustomed to looking at the rearview mirror and your eyes don't have to come much off the road view. I've also find that most dash mounts are flat and not angled for better viewing by the driver, thus sun glare can be a problem on that monitor.

But this is all my opinion and reasons for it.
