OK, I've decided to take the $3200 plus plunge and invest in the Banks system for my 38-J 05 Adventurer. The numbers they market regarding HP gains, fuel efficiency etc.look really good. Have talked w/a few others that have the Banks and they are solid believers. I would invite any and all discussions re: the system as it relates to the 8.1 Vortec (and the Allison 6 speed) I think that now with the Koni shox, and the soon-to-be-installed Banks, I'll have some kinda honkin' MoHome!

I put the Banks PowerPak on my 1999 Ford V-10 and I feel it was worth the money fro this engine. The product was well engineered and went on according to plans.

There was a definite improvement in mid range power and an improvment in transmission shifting. A very slight improvemetn in fuel economy.

net result was the thing ran better.

What size MH was your 99 Ford V-10 in? I have a 35Ft with the same engine. I have been told that It wouldn't make that much difference. Also that if you start messing with that engine it may lead to it spitting out plugs from the poorly engineered heads.

Right now you have a dual exhaust.Banks will add headers, single exhaust, single muffler, whats the advantage? You can replace your manifolds with headers for a lot less money.Maybe a performance chip is a better choice.JMHO

Have you checked into the UltaPower Upgrade for about 1/3 the cost. It will probably give you as much/more performance as the exspensive "Banks" system. You might give these people a call and see what they say.

Ours was in a 1999, 31' Minnie Winnie class C. out road weight was 13,950# and we towed a 3000# dinghy.

A chip will only help to a certain point. You still need to specifically address the breathing for the engine. The air needs to get in and out. The headers from Banks are supposedly tuned for maximum midrange torque which is what you want in an RV. A lot of the other aftermarket headers aer not specifically tuned for an RV and torque. Hotrodders will tune for maximum horsepower.

We never had any sparkplug issues with the engine. We added the Banks at 5000 miles and sold it with 35000 miles on it. I ran Mobil 1 in the engine after the first oil change.

We had a 2000 32ft HR Admiral that had the 275hp V10. Added the
full Banks system and was pleased with the results. The 4 speed
transmission shift points improved and the engine ran a little cooler with less heat around the dog house.

We now have a 2007 38ft Gulf Stream with the W24 Workhorse.
I like the Allison 6 speed transmission. If you have the 6 speed I don't think that a Banks system is needed. Like previously mentioned, maybe a performance chip. CBB
