Battery Fluid Check

Hi guys this should be a pretty easy one. I'm going to check the distilled water in my coach batteries. Do I have to disconnect the leads? What about disconnecting it from Shore power? Or do I just pop off the caps?

I have wet cells also so another thing....search these forums about putting mineral oil in the cells. Keeps battery gasses down and keeps cell water from evaporating so quickly. I did it..it works.

No need to disconnect or turn anything off. Pop the caps. Add distilled water as needed. I use a funnel. Wipe down any accumulated crude. Check battery cables for condition and tight.

A couple times a year get some spray battery cleaner to give the batteries and area a good cleaning. Then use a spray battery terminal protector on the terminals.

The biggie is to do the water check about once a month. More batteries die early death due to letting them go low on water than anything else...
