Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort

The wife and I are headed south the first week of January for 3 months or so. First stop is Red Bay to have some maintenance completed on the coach and then to Belle Terra Resort for a month. After that we are going to head to Florida to look at a couple resorts that have lots for sale.

Right now, high on our list is Bay Lake and Florida Grande. I am still a working man so both of these aren't too far from Sarasota where my corporate offices are located.

Does anyone have experience with either of these resorts? Do you have a recommendation on any other resorts to look at?

I hope this doesn't turn into a debate about whether or not it makes sense to buy a lot. We are all different and have different needs and desires. I have a desire to purchase a "home" location that we can always return to when we want. And we have been blessed to be able to make this happen.

I stayed at Bay Lake to visit lot owners who full time there. Very nice amenities, and plenty of lots for sale back then (2 years ago). Some are just a slab with hook-ups and others have some additional structures. Easy access to/from I-4 and convenient to both Tampa and Orlando.

Thanks for the reply. I am wondering if the development has stalled out or if the lot sales are continuing like other resorts.

We hope to be there in March and stay a week to get a feel for the resort, people, amenities, etc. If anyone has stayed in the last year or so would love to get your thoughts on the place.
