Best Roadside Assistance

What nationwide roadside assistance will bring and install a new tire on A Class A diesel pusher? The few that I have tried will tow but that is about all.

They're all just dispatch call centers. The service you receive depends on what is available where you are broken down. They probably all claim "nationwide" but none of them actually provide the repair service.

Which ones are you talking about? A tow is far more costly to them than calling up a mobile tire repair and saying "Go here and bring a new tire. They'll pay for the tire." which is all roadside assistance is really.

Doesn't Michelin have a number to call if you have their tires?

I have used State Farm roadside assistance for my diesel pusher motorhomes twice for a tow, and once to replace a tire. My State Farm roadside assistance provides for "up to 2 hours" of labor to get you back on the road. This covers things like fan belt replacement tire fixing/changing, and getting the engine started after you run out of fuel. You do have to pay for the cost of the new tire. or fuel, or belt.

But they are expensive! It cost me $9 per year for the roadside assistance addition to my policies.

Are they there for you 24/7 when you call? Or do you have to do everything and submit a bill?

Our last tow happened on a Sunday evening around 6PM, and the coach was broke down in a "bad part of town". I called and after they verified who I was, they immediately started to find a truck big enough to tow us. They also called the local police to perform a "welfare check" on us Then as the process of finding a truck proceeded they called me back once every 30 minutes with updates. A large truck showed up 2 hours later, hooked up the coach and away we went through Saint Louis to a Allison dealership that was 60 miles away.
The driver unhooked us at the gates outside the shop, and he gave me a list of area restaurants, and the name of the lady who would check us in then the shop open in the morning. He even hinted the woman was a dog lover and we could score points if we took our pups with us when we checked in!

It worked! In the AM after we checked in a technician came out to the coach and looked the problem over. He saw a broken wire going to a sensor. About 2 hours later we were back on the road! That morning as we were leaving the shop we received a follow-up call from State Farm representative asking if everything was satisfactorily with our experience!

My total cost for the tow was $0 all paid by State Farm. I paid the Allison bill for two hours labor and the price of the plug and wire.

State Farm is good, no doubt. Forty years ago we had them for about a decade. Then they went crazy on their rates. They have never been even remotely close on quotes since...I'm talking thousands off the mark on my total insurance requirements. Would go back to them in a heartbeat if they wanted my business for a competitive rate.
