Better to sell combo Class A DP w/without toad?
Hi everyone,
So glad to belong to this group! My question is, I’m considering getting out of the RV lifestyle and would like some input from everyone, would it be better to sell my class A DP with its toad, or sell each individually? They’ve been awesome together and hate to break up the”set” 😂 just looking for thoughts,
TIA

I think it would be VERY difficult to find someone that wants both. Even selling the car as a dedicated toad is hard to do. I would advertise them separately.

IMO, there's a very small percentage of people who'll buy a "set". I agree w/Don. Sell them separately with the option of being a set.

I bought my Honda CRV set up to tow from a seller whom tried to sell the RV and Toad together. The person who bought the RV, had no interest in the CRV. So I got a good deal complete with tow bar. Still have my Jeep Wrangler as a backup.

Reminder!
No negotiating any sales in our forums....if you're thinking of that.

Price & offer them separately, even if in the same ad. You can always negotiate a package price if a buyer wants both. I sold a tow dolly that way too.

Most people who will be buying your Class A will not be interested in your toad. Therefore, all of those people will de-value what the toad (and toad setup) might be worth. In that case, you will lose out if you force the sale of both together.
A few people who will be buying your Class A will be very interested in your toad (...they will like the convenience of everything regarding installation being done). Those people might pay more than you would otherwise sell them separately. Not likely, but possible.
Advertise your RV on it's own. In your ad, mention that you have a "done-for-you" TOAD they can also buy for $X. ($X is how much you'd like to sell your toad for if selling it individually). Then see what happens... You might end up selling your toad for a slight discount to whoever buys your RV because you might enjoy the convenience of it. That's perfectly fine.
Good luck!
Chris

Thank you all.

Honeymoo-
I listed the coach and the toad at separate prices in the same ad, and sold both to the same new owner. She wanted to replace her daily driver, and was pleased that I had all the towing gear installed and adjusted, ready for use.
I had a second buyer interested in both coach and toad.
This is in the Northeast where motorhomes and toads are perhaps a bit more rare than other regions of the U.S..
It pays to be patient and price things to sell. Know the range of asking prices; my experience says if I price between 30 and 60 percent of that range, I'll get the kind of buyers I want, fairly quickly. "Your mileage may vary."
