Blue Ox True Center

Wondering if anyone still has this steering stabilizer. Mine came with it and I love it because you can recenter the steering when you have crosswinds or crowned roads. But just recently mine started to not hold the centered position anymore. If I press the button it centers, but then after a mile or so it reverts back to being off center. Curious if anyone has dealt with this. IDE hate to replace it with a standard stabilizer.
Looking for advice.

I had one of those on a a Phaeton. It worked great. I wonder if it could be rebuilt with new seals?

I still have one on my 07 Winnebago Tour. When I first got one probably 10 years ago, I had four of them crap out on me under warranty.

There is a box on the stabilizer that has a solenoid in it. That's the solenoid that locks the position. Often water gets into the box and solenoid fails. I've also had the solenoid break free as it's only spot welded.

When you press the button, you should hear a distinctive click from that solenoid.

So if you're losing your positioning, that box is a good place to start.

As stated above, many were damaged by water. I had one on my Diplomat and loved it. I would open it up, look for obvious issues, dry it out if necessary and reseal. You may also have a mechanical connection that has come loose, allowing it to adjust and then slip back.

Blue Ox stopped making them, but I checked a couple years ago and were still selling the solenoid. That's usually the issue, especially if you don't hear the distinct 'clunk' when you push the button.

Thanks guys (gals?). I’ve been doing some research too and found where the solenoid may go bad and/or brake off. So that is where I will be starting. But being the end of the year I’ll check it out in the spring. I do like it for the 3 years I’ve owned the MH.
I can’t believe they stopped making them or at least tried to update it.
