I live in Washington State and bought my motorhome in Colorado last May. Before I went to look at it I made arrangements at my bank for a wire transfer if it looked good, and contacted an inspector through NRVIA to check his availability . I flew to south eastern Colorado, looked it over and had a test drive. Everything seemed great. The seller and I signed a purchase contract conditional to passing the inspection. I phoned my bank and had $3,000 as a deposit transferred to the sellers bank and flew back home. The inspection was done two days later, including having oil, transmission, and coolant samples lab tested. The inspection turned up a couple of minor issues and the lab tests were fine. I phoned the seller to complete the sale.
The seller overnighted me the signed Certificate of Title and a set of keys. As soon as I received those I wire-transferred the balance owed to them. I didn’t want to drive a-new-to-me diesel MH four days to get it home so I had Showroom Transport deliver it to me. They provided transport plates, insurance, and paid for the fuel to drive it here. (Motorhomes are too large to truck without special trailers and permits.)
