I can not find the post that inspired me, but I built a campground power test meter. It measures voltage (120V) and correct connections on L1 and L2, also voltage across L1 and L2 (240V).

I can think of one improvement.. (And I plan on it for mine when I make it, By the way nearly exactly the same design you used is what I have in mind)

Mine will have a 50 amp female pigtail on it so it can be put "IN-line" as it were and measure under load.

I installed meters in the Elect bay with a switch to select the two phases of 50 Amp.

That's an interesting Idea. I thought about a passthrough plug, but didn't want all the current moving through. A parallel would work, but I'd have to cut my 50 amp cord (one piece from coach).

Should I add frequency? How often is that the problem?

I have never seen a problem with frequency on shore power; but but you might want to check frequency on the output of the genny.

I installed mine on the output of the transfer switch so it shows Shore or Genny, whichever I'm using. It would really be freaky if shore power had a Freq. problem.

The only problem I see now is by the time I measure it's already in the coach. I check it soon after hooking up and before turning on a bunch of stuff, but still it's in at least through the wiring.
