Saw this after reading your post, it's 3 pages talking about 6.5 to 8 qts depending on filter. Not a simple mistake, out and out stole from you. Calling 6.5 qts 7 is a rounding error, calling 6.5 or 8 qts 20 then 22 is nothing but thievery. Sorry it happened to you.

Truth is some folks are ripe for plucking by places like CW. Not knowing how much oil your RV engine holds is an invitation to get ripped off which they did. Are you sure they really changed your oil?

Go get a refund for any oil over what was required and stay away from Camping World [emoji849].

I know that I heard the man, clear as day. There was no mistaking what he had told me.

Last night, looking over my receipt, I see that they charged me for 2 pails of 5 quarts of oil. So, they opened up 10 quarts of oil and only used 6.5 to 8 quarts?
Ok. I can see that. But, why the heck tell me that they needed to charge me extra because my rig needed 22 quarts instead of 20?

What was this guy smoking?

Anyway, I will try to avoid these folks like the plague.

Camping World Review

And who is surprised? Did you check oil level? Maybe they changed it 3 times.

It's hard to say enough negative things about CW. I took a jeep in to have blue ox installed. 4 weeks later, they couldn't even find my jeep. (I'm shortening the story of all the attempted phone calls, no returned VM etc). I went and got my jeep and it was right where I left it and still with their service tag in window. There's more to the story but you get the idea.

Camping World Review

I too would check the oil on level ground after sitting a few hrs. I would call them and tell them they owe you a in store credit for the cost of the extra oil they charged you for and you didn’t receive. Why they didn’t have 5w-30 in the shop is beyond me.

Where did they put all that oil and was that the first time you had it changed ? Always pay for repairs with a check so you can stop payment if necessary. They tried to fix a gray tank leak for me. Couldn’t find the leak, didn’t pull any panels to look and wanted 3 or 4 hours $. I pulled the panels, found the leak and fixed it in about 15 or 20 minutes.
I was camping at the time and figured they had a good system to check for leaks.....wrong.

Not only would I be looking for money back, I would be demanding that they do it again with the right oil!

There are those that say that CW locations are franchise ops. I don't believe it. Lemonis has every store milking rubes for as much as they can get. Perfectly decent operations turn into sheep fleecing facilities overnight. It permeates every facet of the operation, new sales, used sales, service, extended warranty, financing. It is a culture that will eventually destroy this brand. There are a limited number of first time buyers.

Wondered if this was the Memphis/olive branch location? We are always there all day and they never fixed much. We actually sit in our coach when they do warranty work. We finally went to Indiana factory and they were great. Don't bother with having them check your air. Go to someone else.

On a different thread he indicated that it was Tyler, Tx. It's a location that was recently purchased by CW.
