Carpet Glue removal
I am trying to remove carpet glue on my steel deck and and glue residue off of the plywood from the original peel and stick vinyl flooring. Anyone come across a good solvent for glue removal from steel and plywood? This is nasty stuff.

The Steamer is a great idea .
When removing the adhesive in our MH , I used a heat gun .
Either way , you will still need a scraper to remove the majority of the adhesive .
Personally , I don't recommend using a solvent due to the fumes and potential fire risk .
After I removed the adhesive , there still remained a sticky residue .
I sprinkled talcum powder over the surface . This removed any remaining tackiness .
It takes a considerable amount of time , but it's well worth the effort .

I too have used a steamer to remove carpet glue and other adhesives. I've also used the "boiling water method" and that worked surprisingly well:

Thanks for the ideas. I have tired a heat gun, the glue they used on the carpet on the steal cab area is in gobs, its thick like pine sap and real sticky. I tried sanding the glue off the plywood and it just rolled up in sticky balls. I will try the above and keep at it.

Google pops up GooGone and GoofOff? Buy small and try it first?

As I replied to your question on a different RVing forum, the dry ice method and floor scraper method sounds like the easiest and quickest way to remove dried carpet glue.

I thought I would update what has been working for me. On Plywood i had glue residue from the peel and stick tiles, Low odor mineral sprites worked well. For the glue used over the steel deck in the cab area of the coach, I used a scraper blade on my multi-tool. it worked great.
I bought this multi-tool for this project and it has turned out to be money well spent.
