The RV channel is 13 but I run dial CB's and almost never hear anyting on 13.. `19 is the trucker's channel and having a set (my primary) on 19 has saved me much blood pressure medication and the occasional pile of cash by alerting me to issues ahead I'd where I'd have either gotten stuck in a many hours long traffic jam.. Instead of a relaxing night in a Wal*mart lot, or in one case might well have crashed the ride.. but did not so instead of paying big time ... I got paid (long story)

That may not be your problem at all. CB antenna's need to be TUNED to the radio. Even my Firestick needed this. There is a process to this. Read up on:
"Tuning your Antenna to your CB Radio".

I remember those posts too, but can't remember what forum. I think he was selling them at or near his cost just to promote the use of channel 13 by RVers. I do remember that they came in several different colors. I have searched and can't find the info anymore.
