Changing from 12 volt to 6 volt batts.
I've been convinced to change from my shot 12 v AGM's that won't run the un-loaded inverter for 10 minutes to 6 volt GC 2 batteries.
But before I do I want to run by my old and new battery schematic for you guys approval.
The first schematic is the current battery configuration with 4 12 volt batteries.
The second schematic is the proposed battery configuration with 4 6 volt batteries. Note in the 6 volt battery configuration I only changed the R & T cables (now yellow). Battery 1 and 2 form one 12 v bank and battery 3 & 4 form the other battery bank. Cable KK and JJ have not been moved from the current battery configuration and tie the 2 banks together.
Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I can't follow your diagram but here is a diagram to use.
As you can see there are 2 jumpers that get NO extra wiring. That is what creates the 12 volt bank.
All of your positive cables can go on either, or split between the 2 positive outgoing terminals.
All of the negatives go on the other side, marked as ground.

Batteries 3 and 4 on the 6 volt schematic leave much to be desired.

You have just over 200 amp hours between those two BIG Agm's (Waht are they group 31's)
You will have roughly the same with Six Volt pairs.. Only you will have a lot more cash in your wallet.
Don't know why they won't run the inverter no log UNLESS they are nearing end of life.

Looks like battery 4 will not function. Positive is not connected.
Twin boat has the good diagram.

Revised Schematic
OK, I think this schematic is correct.
Batts 1 & 2 form one 12 volt bank, 3 & 4 the other. Cables JJ & TT join the banks together to form one 12 volt bank.
I agree there are many things connected to the battery terminals, it's the way the coach came to me.

Gonna take the DW out to a mighty fine steak house.

Yup, nearing the end of their life, I had them checked.

3&4 look good.
Batt 1 + should only have 1 wire on it, the jumper.
A and XX need to go to batt# 2 +

As I understand this, any + terminal on any battery should have 12 volts. So what does it matter if Cable A and XX are on batt 1 or 2?

Not true. The point your using will only supply 6 volts.
Everthing needs to go thru 2 batteries to supply 12 volts.
