Class A Gas adding mileage for NADA Valuation

Hi,

When getting a valuation from Nada should the milage be taken in to account? If low I have noticed it boasting the value by 20%.

Thanks,

NADA does take into account mileage for gasoline engines but Not for diesel engines

NADA will also take into account 'options' and add value for those options

BUT none of it means much........
NADA pricing is WAY out of line...basically used by Dealers for 'retail' pricing
Dealers use HIGH Retail for THEIR selling price and LOW Retail for trade-ins

NADA is a place for referencing pricing but better source is 'market values' via the various aftermarket sites.....

I pretty much agree with Old Biscuit. Very low or very high mileage has some effect on the market price, but I would ignore it if anywhere in the typical range.

Thanks Gary,

The coach in question is a 2005 Fleetwood Pace Arrow. Nada average retail is 40k, inputting the mileage of 32,000 miles brings the value to 49k.

Seller was lloking for 50k and has dropped to 47k, I am going to look at the coach on Tuesday.

I am trying to figure out a fair price for both the seller and I.

Still seams more than I would want to give. I would go in at 40k to start.

You can check out RvTrader.com and see what others are asking for that make, model and year. Which model of Pace Arrow is it, the 37C?

You've got a good feel for pricing then. If it's like the one in Durand it's a very nice looking unit. I agree with tmw188, 40K looks like a good offer to start with. Good luck!

NADA uses mileage on gas rigs but not diesel. Do NOT add for items that are standard on the model you're checking. Those are already added in the base. If the rig came with a 10 gallon water heater it's already in the base price. However, if it came with a 6 gallon standard but upgraded to a 10 then add that in. Dame with all the other items listed.

Thanks. I have put a load of research in to it.

The coach is the one in Durand, going to see it on Tuesday as seller is away this weekend.

Great to know Mr D. I called Fleetwood with the VIN and no options added except for a paint change, they could not tell if there was a charge for this as paint was standard.

Well, 32k miles qualifies as much lower than average for an '05, but nowhere near $9k more in value. If $40k is average retail, I might go $42 for the lesser engine & tranny wear & tear, but no more than that. But if the overall coach is in much better than average condition, the entire package might be worth $45k or even more. A lot of 13+ year old coaches are well worn, so "average" isn't all that great. Excellent condition (inside and out, cosmetic and well as mechanical) can add substantial value.
