class C electrical anomaly

We traded our Monaco for an 03 class C Gulfstream, Conquest with 2 new (1 year old) interstate 6v deep cycle batteries in it.
When we are out there are times when the lights will dim just a bit and the fan we run ands then slow down and then speed up.
Any ideas?
Mark

Converter issues?

Does it seem more pronounced when you have more lights on? Is it less noticeable if you only use a single light.

We encountered a similar issue years ago. It ended up being the converter.

It sounds like there might be something else intermittently kicking on that would cause the lights to dim ?

I'm just passing along my experience. Mine showed up in the winter when I had the furnace running. The lights would dim and the fan speed would decrease every time the converter/charger kicked on to charge the battery. YMMV

Are you boondocking or on shore or generator power? If shore or generator it could be a converter issue but if boondocking it probably is an inverter issue. Even on shore or generator power the inverter could be the source if it powers the 12v or 120v systems associated with the power fluctuations you are seeing. A modified sine wave inverter versus a pure sine wave inverter and an inverter too small for the loads being supported can cause the issues you describe.
