Used a few over the years and everyone has good opinions, but no matter what product.... prep and patience goes a long way.

I researched and finally settled on Geocel Pro Flex RV clear: The application was re-caulking the one piece fiberglass roof at the outside drip-rails on a 2005 Itasca Class C.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that after 45 years of working for a large general contractor I consider myself a pretty good 'caulker'...
For a decent job taping is a must and the temperatures should probably be over 75.
Even with good conditions I found this product difficult to deal with.
Have isopropyl alcohol, spray bottle with 5% dish soap/water solution, plenty of rags, and lots of patience.
It doesn't lay down well out of the gun, even with lots of finger pressure and soapy water it refuses to tool well....my verdict is it works well, but is a real pita ymmv

After reading and hearing from those on here, I went ahead and tried Lexel. I had to re-seal my marker lights on the cap. I must say this is pretty nice stuff, tools well but still skims pretty quick. Says it can be used wet, but my application was dry. Time will tell how well it works, but so far so good.

3m 5200 works. I to started my own const company in '80 {dang interest rates at WHAT, everyone was remodeling}and geocell we used every where not seen and sashco other places. we did try and use Dow but never had a place for caulk that need New surface to be cleaned and prepped to use.

I have used 5200 and 4200 on boats. There is a difference, I found this posting on a boat forum (from 3M) -
--------------
5200 is meant for permanent applications. If removability is important in
your application and you still need adhesive qualities use 3M Marine
Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4200. Think of 4200 as being the same as 5200
but it is half the strength of 5200 and you would have removability.

If you only require sealant qualities in your application, then use the 3M
Marine Sealant Fast Cure 4000UV.

Since boats flex and move a lot on the water I would think they need better sealants than RVs. RVs don't sink if they leak

Many choices and the "Best" very dependent on application.
BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU USE 5200 IT IS VERY PERMANENT AND DIFFICULT TO EVER SEPARATE PARTS UNLESS YOU HAVE ABILITY TO CUT THROU IT OR HEAT IT WITH A TORCH.

I agree with above.. using as a caulk not glue to attach things is the difference. caulking beads are easy to cut. glue under things are not. like thin ca glue creeps into surface and thick not so much.if used over cracks

I have not but I have experimented with the spray can version a bit. I had two spots on a vinyl tonneau cover on a truck that had numerous pinholes in it. Lacking better ideas I sprayed black Flex-Seal on the bottom side of it. It adhered very well and I could hardly tell where it was from the top. About a year and a half later the holes started opening up again. On the underside the sealant was contracting from big sprayed patches to a collection of tiny islands. No longer terribly flexible and starting to lose adhesion.

So for extending the useful life of a bed cover I didn't really want to replace it worked great.
But I absolutely would not use it on something I wanted to last longer than that and certainly not on a roof that would be constantly exposed to the sun and weather. What I did wasn't even in the sun at all.

I have used many,, just tried some proflex clear,, cleaned area first with water based cleaner like simple green solution then a solvent/paint prep.. Worked perfect..

Prep is key,, granics need a water base to clean and oils, old silicones etc need a solvent based.. to clean..

Silkaflex has a crystal clear also, they have a huge line up not yet mentioned yet. There stuff is professional grade I have use some white at work seems very nice. We make product for Auto paint so no silicones here. I would love to see a long term shootout for all the clears mentioned.
PO of my old TT replaced two windows on aluminium almond siding he used white silicone . Must have had a bucket and 2 X 4 instead of a caulk gun. There was a ton . I never put any silicone on TT after I fixed it right .
