Coffee pots

Just realize my new RV does not have a coffee pot built-in. Any recommendations from more experienced RVers? I'm considering a single serving coffee maker but not opposed to one that drips into a pot. Do I need to worry about amperage or can I get a regular 110 coffee maker?

Do a search and you will find several conversations about which is the best.

I have both , a drip type ; with a steel carafe for days in a park and a single cup drip for days on the road . The single cup unit sits on the counter top and because of it's shape and weight, and being tucked in a corner hasn't moved in 30,000 miles of travel.
Either unit will trip a circuit breaker in the kitchen , if I try to use a toaster at the same time as the coffee is brewing .

Don't get too fancy. Some coffee makers don't like the inverter power.

I installed 2 of the Black and Decker Space savers to free up counterspace. Both failed in a short time due to the inverter power which is not a pure sine wave type.

We have a smaller 4 cup maker that is a simple On/Off type. Have used it for +15 years.

If the coffee maker has a clock/timer then it is probably sensitive to MSW inverter power. Many will fail if plugged in at all while a modified sine (MSW) inverter is online, but pure sine (PSW) inverters will be fine. We've found that Mr Coffee brand pots handle MSW but many others do not. Your mileage may vary...

Other than that, it's just a matter of preference. We like the Hamilton Beach dispenser (Brewstation) models rather than carafes or the Keurig types, but that's your call.

We have two Mr Coffee type. One 120 volt when on shore or Gen and one Colman that uses the gas range for time that Gen time is too late.

I use a french press.
No need for 120 VAC.
Just boil water on the stove.
I tastes better than coffee maker also.
Ikea sells a glass french press for less than $10.
You need to use coarse ground coffee for best results.
Takes up less space.

Process: boil water, add ground coffee to press container, fill with hot water, wait a few minutes, put on top with press screen, gently press screen to bottom filtering out grounds, drink coffee, no need to wash press while on trip, just rinse out used grounds.

We've been using a Keurig for quite a while. One cup, no mess.

Nuke a cup while you brush your teeth.
